History

While serving as First Lady during Dwight D. Eisenhowers two terms, Mamie Eisenhower made quite the name for herself. She was incredibly outgoing and was known to host numerous influential guests throughout her 8-year tenure. She also famously put twenty-seven Christmas trees on display during her first holiday season at the White House. Mamie was married to Dwight for over 50 years before his death in 1969. As a widow, Mamie lived out her remaining days at the family farm in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
