Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ Lady Liberty is featured on the obverse of each gold coin. Liberty strides forward through rays of sunlight. With a torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other, representing hope of a bright future in America. “LIBERTY” and “2016” are engraved inside a border of 5-pointed stars.
The reverse, designed by Miley Busiek, depicts a bald eagle flying back to its nest – where a female eagle and her young await his return; the eagle carries an olive branch in his talon. “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM”, and the coin’s weight, purity, and denomination are inscribed.
The United States Mint was created by the US Congress in the late 1790s with the Coinage Act of 1792. The US Mint is currently responsible for the manufacture of all legal tender bullion, including the American Gold Eagle, and American Silver Eagle.

Most Provident orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Super fast speed and the coins looked like new jewelry all new and flawless!! Prior to my recent purchase of the 2016 gold eagle, I had never owned an eagle or seen one in person. Looking at it on the website, I thought they looked ok, but didn’t think much more about it.
