The 2016 Silver Panda reverse portrays a panda bear cradling a tree branch. The eyes, ears, and legs of the panda on this stunning coin have a proof-like finish to show the panda’s bi-colored fur. The reverse of the 2016 Silver Pandas also features a background of bamboo trees, and inscriptions of coins denomination, weight, and metal purity.
Indigenous to China, pandas are probably the most recognizable creatures on the earth due to their black and white fur – the black frequently covers the bear’s eyes, ears and legs. Males pandas can grow to just about 350 pounds, and females weighing in around 275. Their diet is made up mostly of bamboo, nonetheless they will occasionally eat other sorts of grass and small rodents.
The Temple of Heaven, an ancient architectural marvel, is portrayed on the obverse. The building can be found in Beijing and on the obverse of each coin in the Panda series. “People’s Republic of China” in Chinese and “2016” are inscribed.
The label on these 30 gram silver coins features the Chinese flag, and is printed with “FIRST STRIKE”, “10 Yn”, “2016”, and “MS70”, and “China Panda Silver”.
Chinese Silver Pandas have been released every year by the Chinese Mint since 1983. New to the 2016 Pandas is a strict metric weight instead of the common troy ounces standard. Originally, the 1 oz coins weighed 31.1 grams, nevertheless the mint has chosen to make the development process simpler, replacing the weight to an even 30g.
