Obverse

The obverse side of 2016 Proof Chinese Panda 100 Gram Gold Coins comes with the same design every year. This structural image is that of the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests. This is the primary building in the Temple of Heaven Complex located in south-central Beijing. The hall is a Taoist religious site that has been visited by peasants and leaders alike for centuries to pray for bountiful crop harvests.

Reverse

On the reverse of the 2016 Proof Chinese Panda 100 Gram Gold Coin is the image of a Giant Panda as it crawls along the trunk of a fallen tree over a small pond. This side of the coin has inscriptions of the face value of the coin in Yuan, along with the weight, purity, and metal content of the coin.

History

2016 included a wide range of commemorative proof Chinese Panda Gold coins to mark the transition from Troy ounces to Grams for the series. This included 50 Gram, 100 Gram, 150 Gram, and 1 Kilo proof gold coins. Each one had individual packaging and a Certificate of Authenticity from the mint.

Ordering

Chinese Mint coins in the Chinese Panda Series are produced at a variety of mints in the national system, but never have mint marks to identify which mint produced each of the specific coins.
