History
The National Bank of Ukraine is located in the capital city of Kyiv. The mint opened in 1992 after the fall and separation of the states within the Soviet Union. Originally, the mint served as a central bank for the region while it was Soviet-occupied, but now the bank is an independent Ukrainian government entity that produces the paper currency and coinage for circulation in the country.
