In the reverse design element of the 2016-W American Mercury Dime Gold Coin, there is a Roman fasces. A symbol of power often carried by magistrates, the fasces represents civic and military power. This design wraps the fasces in an olive branch. Inscriptions around the design field include United States of America, One Dime, and E Pluribus Unum. History

The American Centennial Gold Series in 2016 revived the Mercury Dime, Standing Liberty Quarter, and Walking Liberty Half Dollar designs on 24-karat gold bullion coins. The coins had weights reflective of the original values. The Mercury Dime is on a 1/10 oz blank, the Standing Liberty Quarter on a 1/4 oz gold blank, and the Walking Liberty Half Dollar on a 1/2 oz gold blank.
