Silver Canadian Maple Leafs were introduced in 1988, nine years after their gold counterparts which were released in 1979. As part of the Canadian Wildlife Series, these Silver Maple Leaf Coins have a special wolf privy mark.

Each of the coins in this listing are in near-perfect PF69 condition with labels and slabs from the NGC. Coins with this grade have their full, original mint luster. They will have no more than two minor detracting flaws. As part of the Early Release series, these coins were received by NGC within 30 days of the coins release.

Obverse

The obverse face of these coins features the image of Queen Elizabeth II in right-profile relief. This design was created in 2003 by Susanna Blunt.

Reverse

On the reverse side of these coins, youll see the image of the Maple Leaf. This design features the special wolf privy mark. The privy mark is located to the bottom left of the leaf. The privy mark was designed by Canadian artist Pierre Leduc.

History

In the past, Silver Maple Leaf Coins werent produced with the unique reverse proof finish that you will see on these coins. The reverse proof finish will show the design field with a deeply-mirrored appearance. The background field has a strong, frosted look, which makes the mirrored design really stick out. Proof coins have the opposite finish.
