Gallus is one of the 12 guardians that is tasked for guarding the 12 directions from which evil can come. Gallus is depicted wearing a pointed helmet that gives him the ability to see the future. He is also able to summon light, which can blind his enemies and keep demonic forces from entering into the battlefield.

Reverse Design

The reverse side of the 1 oz Silver 2017 Proof South Korean Zi:Sin Gallus Silver Round features the Do ggae bi design, which is very similar to the design that appears on the included display box. Do ggae bi is a figure from Korean mythical lore that is said to have the power to protect against evil spirits.

Gallus is considered to be a messenger of light to protect the western gate against the darkness that would otherwise invade the world of man. Gallus stands guard, fully armored to protect man against the demonic assaults that come from the dark realm.
