Though often overlooked by larger coin programs on the European continent, the Armenian Noahs Ark Series boasts a beautiful design and is issued annually with the same designs. Introduced in 2011, the Armenian Noahs Ark bullion coins are produced by an affiliate of Geiger Edelmetalle for the small Eastern European nation. Provident Metals now offers the 2017 Armenian Noahs Ark 1/2 oz Silver Coin for purchase online.
Highlights:
When you purchase the 2017 Armenian Noahs Ark 1/2 oz Silver Coin, the items you receive all come in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The coins are available to you individually inside of protective plastic flips or various multiples. Those multiples include a mint tube of 20 coins or wooden boxes of 500 coins.
Obverse
The obverse field of the 2017 Armenian Noahs Ark 1/2 oz Silver Coin has the official coat of arms for the Republic of Armenian. The beautiful quartered shield has national symbols in all four quadrants with a small shield in the center bearing the image of Noahs Ark as it rests on the top of Mount Ararat. Inscriptions on this face of the coin indicate the nation of issue in both Armenian and English.
Reverse
On the reverse side of the 2017 Armenian Noahs Ark 1/2 oz Silver Coin is a depiction of Noahs ark resting on the floodwaters. In the bible, God sent a massive flood of rain that lasted for 40 days and 40 nights. Noah and his family were chosen for their virtue to build an ark to house themselves and two of every species of animal in the world. God was upset with the sins and debauchery of mankind and wanted to wipe the Earth clean before starting anew. In this design, the ark floats on the water as a dove returns with an olive branch in its talons and the sun cresting over Mount Ararat in the distance.
History
Armenian Noahs Ark silver coins debuted from Geiger Edelmetalle in 2011 with 1/4 oz, 1/2 oz, and 1 oz silver coins. Just one year later, 5 oz, 10 oz, 1 Kilo, and 5 Kilo versions of the coins were introduced into the series and continue in production until this day.
