On the obverse of 2017 Australian Dragon and Phoenix Silver Coins is a right-profile portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is depicted here in a 1998 design from Ian Rank-Broadley that featured as the fourth-generation design on British coins from 1998 to 2015 and as the fifth-generation design on Australian coins from 1999 to 2018/2019. The Queen wears the Royal Diadem crown, also known as the George IV State Diadem.
Reverse
The reverse field of the 2017 Australian Dragon and Phoenix 1 oz Silver Coin features two critical mythical beasts from Chinese culture.
