Austrian Philharmonic Gold Coins are the best-selling gold bullion coins on the European continent. First introduced in 1989, the series features five weights for investors to choose from, with the 1/25 oz gold coin representing the smallest and most unique option. Today, you have the chance to purchase 2017 Austrian Philharmonic 1/25 oz Gold Coins online at Provident Metals.

Highlights:

  • Arrives with protective flips or mint tubes of 20!
  • 4th issue of Austrian Philharmonic 1/25 oz gold coins!
  • Contains 1/25 Troy oz of .9999 pure gold in BU condition.
  • The face value of 4 (Euro) is backed by Austria.
  • On the obverse is the Great Pipe Organ design.
  • The reverse features a selection of musical instruments.

The Austrian Philharmonic Gold Coin series was originally available from the Austrian Mint in Austrian schillings. From 1989 to 2001, the coins available in the series had values in the long-standing fiat currency of the Republic of Austria. Beginning in 2002, the nation adopted the Euro currency of the European Union economic zone. As such, the Austrian Philharmonic Gold Coins received new values in Euro.

Obverse

On the obverse side of 2017 Austrian Philharmonic 1/25 oz Gold Coins is the depiction of the Great Pipe Organ. This massive fixed musical instrument is found inside of the Musikverein, the concert hall in Vienna in which the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra performs many of its concerts in the country.

Reverse

The reverse of 2017 Austrian Philharmonic 1/25 oz Gold Coins features a collection of different musical instruments. While there are eight instruments in total, you will notice there is a cello in the center flanked on either side by two violins. Behind these five instruments, there is a bassoon, harp, and French horn.

History

Austrian Philharmonic Gold Coins added the 1/25 oz gold version in 2014. The numeric weight selected was not random, but rather, purposeful. 2014 was the 25th anniversary of the Austrian Philharmonic Gold Coins and the 1/25 oz weight was meant to be a commemorative issue, but it proved so popular that it is still available to this day.

Ordering

These 2017 Austrian Philharmonic 1/25 oz Gold Coins are available individually in protective plastic flips or in multiples of 20 housed in tubes. All coins are offered in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
