Proof Chinese Panda Gold Coins were introduced in 2016. The weights available started at 50 Grams and went higher, with the coins issued to honor the switch from Troy oz to Grams. Obverse

History

In 1981, the Chinese Panda Gold Coin debuted with 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz options. In 1982, a 1/20 oz gold coin was introduced. In 2001, the original face values were adjusted for each coin. In 2016, the weights changed from the aforementioned Troy oz options to 30 Gram, 15 Gram, 8 Gram, 3 Gram, and 1 Gram coins.

These 2017 Proof Chinese Panda 50 Gram Gold Coins have PR69 grades from the PCGS. Coins in this condition have full, original mint luster and a maximum of two minor detractions. The detractions are limited in nature to minuscule contact marks or hairlines and limited in scope to the areas outside the primary focal points of the coin. The DCAM inclusion refers to the strong, frosted design and deeply-mirrored, clear fields. The First Strike label is for coins received within 30 days of release.
