These coins are incredibly unique due to their large size. This is the first year that the Scottsdale Mint has released a 1 Kilo version of this coin.

All of the coins in this listing are in BU condition. Coins in brilliant uncirculated condition will show no signs of wear and tear, but they might have minor flaws. These flaws include breaks in luster, spotted surfaces, and contact marks that occurred during the minting process.

Obverse

On the obverse side of the coin, you will see the new silverback gorilla image for 2017. This large ape is mid-roar, showing off its massive jaws and teeth. Silverback gorillas are an important part of the family troop. They are the alpha males. Their name comes from the stripe of silver fur that runs down their backs.

Reverse

The reverse image on each coin is that of the coat of arms for the Republic of Congo. The image features a shield with a heraldic lion. There are two elephants on either side of the shield. On this side of the coin, you will find engravings that include the national motto and the name of the country. Both of these engravings are in French.
