He finds himself landing in court, after he causes destruction and mayhem in the small town. The judge presiding over his case is a grouchy old hotrod who just so happens to be a legend of the race circuit, and the first-ever Piston Cup winner.
McQueen eventually learns Doc Hudsons true identity and asks him to help him win the Piston Cup. Doc Hudson refuses at first, unwilling to return to that world. After some time, Doc has a change of mind and heart. He works with McQueen to help him learn what truly matters in life, and its not all about winning the Piston Cup.

Doc Hudson was once known as the Fabulous Hudson Hornet, a famous speedster who dominated the racing circuit in his youth.
