Canada, while still considered a commonwealth state, earned its independence from British control in 1867. The 2017 Proof Canadian Celebrating Canadas 150th Series Great Blue Heron 1/2 oz Silver Coin recognizes the 150th anniversary of that day of independence. The commemorative coin is offered with a brilliantly colorized image of the Great Blue Heron, captured by Canadian Geographic. The coin was released in limited numbers, which does boost its overall collectability. With .9999 pure silver content, this coin is a great addition to the collection of investors and Canadian coin collectors both. This design is the 4th design released by the Royal Canadian Mint in the 150th Anniversary Series.
