Fantasia was released by Walt Disney Productions in 1940 and was the third animated feature film released by Disney. The film, though hampered originally in its release as a result of World War II, is the 23rd highest-grossing film in American history when adjusted for inflation.

History

The Mickey Through the Ages Series from the New Zealand Mint features some of the most iconic images of Mickey from Walt Disney. Many of the designs come from original issues in the late 1920s and early 1930s, such as Gallopin Gaucho, Plane Crazy, and The Band Concert. Fantasia, from 1940, is actually one of the newer images in this series.
