One of the earliest depictions of Mickey Mouse and his girlfriend Minnie came in the Gallopin Gaucho short film in 1928. Today, you have the chance to get the 2017 Proof Niue Mickey Mouse Gallopin Gaucho Series 1/4 oz Gold Coin online from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
The 2017 Proof Niue Mickey Mouse Gallopin Gaucho Series 1/4 oz Gold Coins are available to you with proof visuals. Coins such as these in the series have frosted design elements that contrast with the mirrored background fields.
Obverse
On the obverse side of 2017 Proof Niue Mickey Mouse Gallopin Gaucho Series 1/4 oz Gold Coins is a depiction of Queen Elizabeth II. This is the fifth-generation effigy of Queen Elizabeth II to feature on Commonwealth coins and was designed in 1998 by Ian Rank-Broadley for the Royal Mint of England. She is depicted in right-profile relief with the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara on her head.
Reverse
The reverse face of the 2017 Proof Niue Mickey Mouse Gallopin Gaucho Series Gold Coins comes with the design of Mickey and Minnie Mouse. The two are featured dressed as a Gaucho and his gal dancing the tango together. The design depicted here is inspired directly by the animated short from Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks.
History
Gallopin Gauchos was the second feature film release of Mickey Mouse following Plane Crazy. Debuting in December 1928, the film was released as a silent feature and was shelved at one point in favor of focusing on Steamboat Willie, which did come out with synchronized sound.
