Her Majesty is featured here in right-profile relief in a 1998 design from Ian Rank-Broadley. This vision appears on all Australian coins from 1999 to 2018/2019 and still commonly appears on Commonwealth coinage in the South Pacific region.

On the reverse face of 2017 Niue Mickey Mouse Gallopin Gaucho Series Gold Coins is a depiction of Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse from the animated short film. Minnie performs the salsa and tango with Mickey, as depicted here. In the film, this attracts the flirtatious overtures of other customers. Mickey and his foe Pete the Cat end up in a sword fight for the hand of Minnie, with Mickey emerging victorious.

Gallopin Gaucho was developed by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks in August 1928. It was supposed to be the second film featuring Mickey Mouse following Plane Crazy and before Steamboat Willie. It was originally produced as a silent film and halted in production so Steamboat Willie could be completed with synchronized sound included. Steamboat Willie went on to become the first Mickey Mouse short with sound, followed by Gallopin Gaucho.

These 2017 Niue Mickey Mouse Gallopin Gaucho Series 1 oz Gold Coins are proof specimens with frosted visuals and mirrored background fields.
