Released by the small South Pacific island nation of Niue, the Warriors of History series of coins pays tribute to those who have cemented their place in history by being legendary warriors and weapons masters. The 2017 Proof Niue Warriors of History Romans 1 oz Silver Coin is the sixth design in the series and recognizes the Romans for their conquering, weapons use and masterful tactics in battle. In partnership with Niue, the New Zealand Mint produced these cleverly designed coins, each containing 1 Troy oz of .999 pure silver. The coins are highly collectible and sought after by investors and collectors who enjoy the unique and interesting.
Highlights:
The Roman Army has long been recognized in history books as having been one of the most effective battle forces the world has known. The Roman Army paved the way for the building of the Roman Empire, which was the largest empire in human history. It stretched from the rain-soaked British Isles to the sunshine-filled deserts in the Middle East.
The 2017 Proof Niue Warriors of History Romans 1 oz Silver Coin features a vibrantly colored Roman soldier, reaching for his sword and yelling out his battle cry as he prepares to take on his foes.
Obverse
The obverse design of the 2017 Proof Niue Warriors of History Romans 1 oz Silver Coin features the 1998 portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, designed by world-renowned sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley. This effigy of Her Majesty is featured on the obverse side of all coinage in Niue.
Reverse
The reverse design of the 2017 Proof Niue Warriors of History Romans 1 oz Silver Coin depicts the Roman Army prepared to forge into battle. The warriors in the background of the design are shown holding their swords and shields at ready. The colorized Roman Soldier is shown in full battle dress as he prepares to battle his enemies. Above the Roman soldier is the word Romans, which is a nod to the warriors being depicted on the design.
Your 2017 Proof Niue Warriors of History Romans 1 oz Silver Coin will ship to you secured inside of the rectangular display box, with an included Certificate of Authenticity.
