Like most of the Royal Canadian Mint’s coins, the obverse of the Golden Eagle features a profile view of Queen Elizabeth II. You’ll also find inscriptions of “ELIZABETH II,” “200 DOLLARS,” and “2018.” The coin comes sealed inside an assay card complete with a signature from the chief assayer.
The reverse features a detailed design of a Golden Eagle, with its beak open as it calls to the wilderness. The RCM’s maple leaf privy mark can be found, along with inscriptions of “CANADA” and “FINE GOLD 99999 1 OZ OR PUR.” This is the fifth coin in the RCM’s Call of the Wild series.
The Royal Canadian Mint produces all of Canada’s circulation coins, precious metal bullion coins, and various medallions. One notable feature on many RCM coins, including the iconic Silver Maple, is the privy mark micro-engraved with the year of issue. They are a part of the mint’s proprietary bullion DNA technology.
Each coin comes sealed in an assay card from the mint.
