The Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II with a proof-like finish can be found on the obverse. Inscriptions note the year of issue, denomination, purity, and weight.
A dynamic rendition of the classic comic design for Thor, Asgardian god of thunder, is featured on the reverse. He holds his enchanted hammer, Mjolnir, which grants him flight and weather manipulation abilities. Thor is a fictional superhero who is based on the Norse mythological god of the same name. Thor first appeared in American comics in 1962, during the Silver Age of comic books. He was created by Stan Lee, Larry Lieber, and Jack Kirby. Thor is perhaps best known in pop culture as a founding member of the superhero team known as the Avengers.
The officially Marvel/Disney licensed Silver Thor coin comes after the successful release of the Tuvalu Silver Spider-Man coin, making it the second coin in their Marvel bullion series. The Thor coin will be produced with a limited mintage of 50,000.
The small oceanic country of Tuvalu is located between Australia and Hawaii. The Polynesian island is part of the British Commonwealth. All coins in this Marvel series are struck by the Perth Mint and issued by Tuvalu.
Each Silver Thor coin comes individually capsulized. Rolls contain 20 coins and boxes contain 100 or 300 coins.
