The Silver Koala’s reverse features new artwork with each annual release. The 2018 release features a seated koala on the branch of a eucalyptus tree surrounded by gum leaves. Inscriptions include “AUSTRALIAN KOALA” and the Perth Mint’s “P” mint mark, along with the coin’s weight, purity, and year of issue.
The 1 kilo Silver Koala coin will be produced without a mintage limit; production will close at the end of 2018 and the mint will declare the coin’s official mintage. The one ounce version of the coin will be produced with a limited mintage of 300,000. This is expected to garner strong collector interest.
