The obverse of all 2017 1 oz Australian Silver Rooster coins features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majestys depiction is captured in right-profile relief and was created in 1998 by Ian Rank-Broadley.
On the reverse of the Australian Silver Rooster coin is the image used on all silver Year of the Rooster releases. It includes a family of chickens, led by a bold rooster and featuring a hen with three chicks pecking for morsels on the ground. The surrounding imagery includes native plant species from China.
