Designed by Susanna Blunt, the obverse features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. The denomination is inscribed on this side.
Designed by Neil Hamlin and inspired by Leif Eriksson’s voyage, the reverse features a Viking ship at sea. This dragon ship was known as a dreki or drakkar. The design’s perspective emphasizes the carved figurehead at the ship’s prow, which gave the ship its name and was intended to ward off evil spirits. A pattern of interlaced serpents circles around the coin to create a frame, which is selectively colored.
The Norse Figureheads series of silver coins re-imagines Viking ships as they likely appeared a millennium ago, when a Norse encampment was established at L’Anse aux Meadows. The area is now a national historic site that holds the remains of the 11th century settlement, which is the only authenticated Viking settlement in North America to date.
Each Viking Voyage coin comes nestled in a maroon clamshell box for protection and display purposes.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
