The selectively rhodium-plated obverse features the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt. The inscriptions ELIZABETH II and D.G. REGINA (Latin for “By the Grace of God, Queen”) are also engraved on the obverse.
Designed by Tony Bianco, the reverse features the secretive cougar in full roar under the moonlit sky. The wild feline’s strong silhouette in plated rhodium stands out against the full moon in shiny silver. Also engraved on the reverse are the words “CANADA”, the face value “20 DOLLARS” and the year “2018”.
