Voyageurs National Park is located in the northernmost point in the state of Minnesota. The park was named for voyageurs, the French-Canadian fur traders who were the first to navigate the waterways in the region while exploring for new fur routes and sources. The park largely consists of waterways that are popular in the summer months with canoeists, kayakers, and fishermen, while the winter months see increases in use by snowmobilers, cross-country skiers, and hikers.

History
