This left-profile bust of Washington was created in 1932 by John Flanagan for use on the circulation quarter. He was honored in 1932 with his bust on the quarter to mark the 200th anniversary of his birth.

History

Cumberland Island National Seashore preserves the vast majority of Cumberland Island, the largest of the Golden Isles on the Georgia coast.
