Based on Victoria and Nike, the Roman and Greek goddess of victory, Winged Victory is depicted here as she is found at the top of the Mexican Independence Victory Column in Mexico City. In the background field, you will notice the towering peaks of the twin volcanic mountains at Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl.

Reverse

On the reverse face of the 2018 Proof Mexican Libertad Silver 5-Coin set coins includes the modern coat of arms of Mexico. This design includes a Mexican golden eagle on a cactus arm as it battles to control a serpent in its beak and talons. The fractional-ounce coins all have only this design. Meanwhile, the 1 oz silver coin has this design plus 10 historical versions of the national coat of arms along the outer edge of the design field.

Proof Mexican Libertad Silver 5-Coin Sets debuted in 2008 from the Mexican Mint. The availability of this set has been capped at just 1,000 sets in each year. No set was offered in 2009.
