Now, for the first time ever, the Krugerrand is being issue as a low-premium silver bullion coin. Although South Africa released a higher-premium 2017 Silver “K-Rand” for collectors, the 2018 issue is the first coin available at a low bullion premium. As such, it offers investors a new option in the sovereign-minted silver coin marketplace. Its highly competitive premium places it in the same class as the Silver Maple Leaf, Britannia, Kangaroo, and Philharmonic. Plus, thanks to the coin’s 50+ year reputation, it stands to attract an even wider audience.
Multiples of 25 Silver Krugerrands will be delivered in original mint tubes. Quantities of 500 will be shipped in mint-sealed monster boxes. Otherwise, coins will be delivered in clear plastic flips.

I ordered 10 Krugerrands on a recent order, and received all 10 quickly and in individual flips. The knock on this review isn’t on Provident Metals, their service was great.
All 10 of the coins I received had the same minor defects, which seems like they probably came from the mint that way? On the reverse of the coins, in the space above the arch of the springboks back, there is a minor imperfection in the finish, almost a small fleck missing. On the obverse, beneath the H in South Africa, there are two similar spots. All three of these defects repeat in the same exact place on all ten coins.
The coins are still beautiful, and I still plan to add another fifteen to my collection by the end of the year to fill a tube. I’ll check closely on my next order to see if these flaws continue to repeat.

Bought a tube of these and wasn’t impressed. Almost half the coins in the tube had some form of mint processing blemish issue: whether a scratch or abrasion. I’m surprised considering SA Mint has been doing this process in gold forever. Very unfortunate and highly disappointed w/ this purchase. Will be looking to exchange these out. Good luck if you’re ordering singles! The other half of the coins in the tube were decent and I do really enjoy the design.
