While it is not the only gold or silver bullion medal program available from KOMSCO, the Chiwoo Cheonwang Series is arguably the leading bullion option available to investors and collectors following all of the new KOMSCO releases available. Right now, you can get the 1 oz Silver 2018 South Korean Chiwoo Cheonwang Canis Privy Medal online at Provident Metals.
The Chiwoo Cheonwang Series debuted from KOMSCO in 2016 along with the Tiger Medal Series as the first two major bullion collections to garner international attention for the Republic of Koreas mint. In 2017, those collections were followed by the Zi:Sin Series, a uniquely Korean lunar calendar design collection.
Do ggae bi is a hobgoblin-like figure that entered Korean cultural lore in the 14th century and is said to have the power to ward off evil with its grotesque appearance. Do ggae bi features on the obverse of many KOMSCO coin programs and is often featured on the battle shield of Chiwoo Cheonwang as he is on the obverse of these silver medals. Included on this side is the KOMSCO latent security image beneath the shield, along with inscriptions of the weight, purity, and metal content.
Chiwoo Cheonwang is featured on the reverse of 1 oz Silver 2018 South Korean Chiwoo Cheonwang Medals along with the Canis privy mark. In this years design, Chiwoo is riding through the field of battle with his sword lowered and ready to lop off the heads of his enemies as he seeks to cut down all those who stand against him. In the lower-right field, there is a small Canis privy mark honoring the second design in the Zi:Sin Series and the 2018 Year of the Dog.
The Zi:Sin Series launched in 2017 and features new designs aligning with the animals of the Chinese lunar calendar for each year. The Chiwoo Series has been in production since 2016 with new designs of its own each year.
1 oz Silver 2018 South Korean Chiwoo Cheonwang Canis Privy Medals are available to you in Brilliant Uncirculated condition with individual protective plastic flips. If you purchase multiples, they arrive inside of either mint tubes of 25 medals or boxes of 250 medals.
