The American bald eagle design is found on the reverse of the 2018 Proof American Eagle 1 oz Palladium Coin. Weinman also created this design, but he developed it in 1907 for use on the American Institute of Architects gold medal.

History

American Eagle 1 oz Palladium Coins debuted in 2017. That year, the US Mint issued the coin as a bullion version with a mintage of 15,000 coins. In 2018, the mint issued the coins as proof versions with the same mintage of 15,000 coins. The 2019 version of the coin was a reverse proof with a mintage of 30,000 coins, double the previous issues.
