Weinman, Liberty walks toward the sun on the horizon as it crests a small mountain peak. She wears the American flag over her shoulders and carries branches of oak and laurel in her left hand. This face of the coin has the thin application of 24-karat gold on the figure of Liberty, the American flag, the sun and mountain, as well as the date mark at the bottom. Liberty and In God We Trust are not plated in the 24-karat gold.

Reverse

In the reverse design element, the 2019 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin has the heraldic eagle of the United States. This figure depicts a powerful bald eagle with the US national shield on its chest, the arrows of war in one talon, and the olive branch of peace in the other. The bird clutches a banner in its beak that reads E Pluribus Unum and has a triangular cluster of 13 stars above its head. Other inscriptions on this side include United States of America, 1 oz Fine Silver, and One Dollar.

History

American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins with a gilded layer do not have a significantly enhanced precious metal value as a result of the 24-karat gold application. The layer of gold is very thin and is used more to create a unique visual contrast between a gold design and the silver surface of the coin.
