The Bird Of Paradise is famously associated with northeastern Queensland and the island of New Guinea, where local tribes use its beautiful plumes as currency. The Perth Mint launched the Bird of Paradise series in 2018 with the Victoria’s Riflebird. In 2019, the series continues with the Manucodia, a black bird with purple and green plumes and whose name is derived from the Javanese term “manuk dewata”. “Manuk” means bird and “dewata” means gods.

Provident Metals sent me a text message when they began the PRE-ORDER stage, so I jumped on and placed my order for both, the Gold and Silver units.
Today arrived very well packaged/shipped, as normal.
The Gold Coin is Beautiful.. Upon this unit, what pops out in the sunlight is moreso the birds head and the leafs in the trees branches.
What I also really like, is that the coins are sealed in protective capsules, to protect the coins before leaving the mint.
Thanks Provident Metals..."
