Obverse

The obverse of 2019 Australian Anniversary of the Moon Landing 1 oz Silver Coins comes with an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Designed in 2015 by Jody Clark for the Royal Mind of England, this bust of Queen Elizabeth II has been adapted for the Perth Mint as the sixth-generation effigy for Australian coins. It shows more of the Queens figure than its British counterpart by including Her Majestys neckline and shoulders in the design for the first time since 1966 on Australian coins. Queen Elizabeth II wears the George IV State Diadem Crown, a ceremonial crown worn for the State Opening of Parliament and commissioned in 1820.

Reverse

On the reverse side of the 2019 Australian Anniversary of the Moon Landing 1 oz Silver Coin is a design created the capture the appearance of the American mission on the moon. There is a footprint on the surface of the moon left behind by one of the two American astronauts to walk the lunar surface during the mission. History

Apollo 11 lifted off from Merritt Island, Florida, on July 16, 1969. The eight-day mission to the moon included just a 21.5 hour period of time for the astronauts to spend on the lunar surface. Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were the two men to descend to the lunar surface to explore and collect samples before returning to Michael Collins in the orbiting command module. The crew splashed down in the South Pacific back on Earth on July 24, 1969.
