Obverse
The obverse of the 2019 Australian Bottlenose Dolphin Silver Coin includes the final portrait of Queen Elizabeth II used on Australian coins. Jody Clark designed this version in 2015, and it made its way to Australian bullion coins by 2018. The Queen is shown in right-profile relief wearing the George IV State Diadem. Inscriptions read ELIZABETH II, AUSTRALIA, 1 1/2 OZ 9999 AG, 2019, and 2 DOLLARS.
Reverse
The reverse side of 2019 Bottlenose Dolphin 1.5 oz Silver Coins showcases two bottlenose dolphins leaping above the waves. These animals often travel in small groups and have developed social hunting techniques based on their location. One method seen in the South Pacific is mud ring feeding, where dolphins create a ring of mud to catch fish more easily. Inscriptions include AUSTRALIAN BOTTLENOSE DOLPHIN.
