Austrian Philharmonic Gold Coins are released every year from the Austrian Mint. They are the official gold bullion coins for the nation of Austria. The series was first released in 1989 and new coins are released with the same designs each year. Right now, you can purchase 2019 Austrian Philharmonic 1/2 oz Gold Coins in Brilliant Uncirculated condition from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
The Austrian Philharmonic Coin Series features coins in gold, silver, and platinum bullion options. There are five different gold sizes: 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, 1/10 oz, and 1/25 oz. Originally, only the 1 and 1/4 oz coins were offered.
All of the coins in this listing are in Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) condition. They come in protective packaging. Bulk orders of ten coins or multiples of ten will ship in mint tubes.
Obverse
The obverse of all 2019 Austrian Philharmonic 1/2 oz Gold Coins is the image of the Great Organ situated within the Musikverein. Also known as the Golden Concert Hall, this is where the Vienna Philharmonic performs in the national capital city of Vienna.
Reverse
On the reverse face of these coins, you will find a variety of musical instruments that are used by members of the orchestra. These instruments include a cello, horn, bassoon, harp, flute, and four violins.
History
The Austrian Mint is one of the oldest operating minting facilities in Europe. These coins were originally released in 1989. All Austrian Philharmonic Gold coins debuted with .999 pure gold and Austrian shilling face values with the exception of only the 1/25 oz coin. In 2002, these coins switched to euros. However, the Austrian Philharmonic Gold Coins hold no legal tender status throughout the EU like they do in Austria.
