Austrian Philharmonic Gold Coins are some of the most beloved among precious metals collectors. The stunning musical design of these coins makes them incredibly unique in the coin world. Today, you can purchase 2019 Austrian Philharmonic 1/25 oz Gold Coins in Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) condition from Provident Metals.
Each coin in this listing arrives at your door in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. This means that the coins will have never been put into circulation and all original mint luster remains on the surface of both the obverse and reverse of the coins.
Each 2019 Austrian Philharmonic 1/25 oz Gold Coin features the image of the Great Organ that is a fixture in the Gold Concert Hall, or Musikverein, which is located in the Innere Stadt neighborhood in the city of Vienna. The organ is considered the central instrument for the Vienna Philharmonic.
On the reverse side of the Austrian Philharmonic Gold Coins, you will see a total of nine instruments that are also part of the Vienna Philharmonic. These instruments include a cello, four violins, a harp, a flute, a horn, and a bassoon. All engravings on both sides of the coin are in German, which is the official language of Austria.
Austrian Philharmonic coins are offered in both gold and silver. Originally, only gold coins were introduced in 1 oz and 1/4 oz sizes. This began in 1989.
Over the last three decades, the Austrian Mint has added three additional gold size options: 1/2 oz, 1/10 oz, and 1/25 oz. Both the 1/2 and 1/10 oz were added very shortly after the release of the first two gold coins. The 1/25 oz coin was added to the lineup in 2014 to mark the 25th anniversary of the original coin release. The weight was decided upon due to the anniversary being the 25th, but it was so popular with collectors that it stuck around.
