Reverse

The reverse of each of these coins shows the Yale of Beaufort, which is a mythical goat- or antelope-type beast with the tusks of a boar and large horns. The Yale supports a shield. In this design, the Yale has very long, winding horns.

History

The British Mint has a long history of producing beautiful coins. These coins were created to showcase the Yale of Beaufort, which is tied to Lady Margaret Beaufort, who was an influential figure during the Wars of the Roses. Her son, King Henry VII established the Tudor Dynasty and defeated King Richard III.
