The Chinese Panda coins are an ongoing series from the People’s Republic of China that celebrates one of their great national symbols, the Giant Panda. Since their introduction in 1982, these .999 gold bullion coins have been prized by collectors who eagerly await the unveiling of a new Giant Panda reverse design each year. The Gold Panda coins are produced at several different mints throughout mainland China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Shenyang.

In 2016, The People’s Republic of China changed the weights of the Panda series to match the internationally-recognized metric system. Therefore, the 1/2 oz Gold panda is now the 15 gram Gold Panda, but it is still struck in .999 pure gold and serves as Chinese legal tender with the face value of 200 yuan. Add the latest release in this iconic series to your order today!

Highlights

  • Each coin contains 15 gram of .999 pure gold with a face value of 200 yuan.
  • Real-time prices are locked in at the time of the order.
  • Fast, free, and discreet shipping in flips or monster boxes.
  • Quickly and easily sell back your coins to Provident Metals at industry-leading prices.

Obverse

The obverse depicts the famous China landmark Beijing Temple of Heaven encircled by the Chinese inscription reading, “People’s Republic of China” and the year of issue.

Reverse

The 2019 reverse design features a mother panda bear cradling her adorable baby panda bear as she gazes lovingly into its eyes. They are set against a beautiful mountain backdrop. The metal content, weight, and purity, as well as the coin’s face value, surround the image.
