Located deep in the Caribbean Sea at the southern tip of the Grenadines island chain, the island of Grenada is one of the eight represented in the EC8 Series from the Scottsdale Mint. Introduced in 2018, the coin collection gained new designs for each of the countries represented in 2019. Today is your chance to buy the 2019 Grenada Diving Paradise 1 oz Silver Coin from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
The new designs in the 2019 EC8 Series from the Scottsdale Mint chart a similar course to the first designs in 2018. For example, the Grenada release continues to focus on the watersports tourism sector of the economy in Grenada. With bountiful natural reefs and purpose-built diving sites, Grenada attracts thousands of scuba divers each year to its white-sandy shores.
Obverse
Queen Elizabeth II is depicted on the obverse of the 2019 Grenada Diving Paradise 1 oz Silver Coin. Her Majesty is shown in the fourth-generation Royal Mint of England design from Ian Rank-Broadley. This design captures the Queen with the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara on her head. This tiara is believed to be her favorite and features on her head in most British banknotes and circulation coins. Inscriptions here read Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, 1 oz .999 Silver, Queen Elizabeth II, and Two Dollars.
Reverse
A hub of scuba diving in the Caribbean, Grenada is one of the top destinations for this watersport. On this side of the coin is the image of a diver underwater as the individual swims through a massive school of fish circling around the field. The only inscriptions on this side include Grenada and the 2019 date mark.
History
The EC8 Series from the Scottsdale Mint includes eight distinctive designs for the eight member nations of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, a centralized monetary authority for select nations in the Caribbean region.
