The 2019 Proof Alabama Chickasaw Coyote 1 oz Silver Coin recognizes the Chickasaw Nation. The Chickasaw people met with European-American settlers in the early 19^th century, due to the tribes migratory patterns taking them in close proximity of the settlers. The Chickasaw were considered by the United States government to be one of the Five Civilized Tribes by the federal government. When the people of the Chickasaw resisted the ongoing development and taking over of their lands by the European-Americans, the federal government had them forcibly removed from their ancestral lands in Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee and relocated to Oklahoma.

The coyote is a species of canine, and is actually a relative of the gray wolf. Coyotes can be found throughout North and Central America. Also on the reverse of the coin are the words Alabama, Coyote, Jamul Sovereign Nation, and America.
