On the obverse of the 2019 Proof American Apollo 11 50th Anniversary 5 oz Silver Dollar Coins is the image of the footprint of an astronaut on the lunar surface. The reverse field captures a popular image taken on the moon by the astronauts of Apollo 11. Reflected in the visor of Buzz Aldrin, the reverse of the 2019 Proof American Apollo 11 50th Anniversary 5 oz Silver Coin showcases the picture of Neil Armstrong on the lunar surface near the American flag and Eagle lunar lander. The very outer edges of the design field showcase the helmet of Aldrin.

The Apollo 11 mission was part of the broader Apollo program at NASA that ran from 1961 to 1972. Three men were part of the Apollo 11 mission in July 1969. Michael Collins was the command module pilot and the only one of the three not to go to the moon. Neil Armstrong was the mission commander and went to the moon with lunar module pilot Buzz Aldrin.

These silver coins have a PF70 certification. This means the coins have full, original mint luster and no detracting flaws. The included UCAM label stands for ultra-cameo and means the coins have deeply-mirrored, clear backgrounds with strong, frosted matte elements. Each coin ships in a sealed plastic slab.
