Obverse

The obverse of each of the coins in the 2019 Proof Australian Lunar Landing Two-Coin Silver and Cupro-Nickel Set is different. The United States coin features the footprint made by an astronaut on the moons surface. The words Mercury Gemini and Apollo are engraved above the footprint.

The Australian coin features the 1998 effigy of Queen Elizabeth IIs effigy as designed by Ian Rank-Broadley. Also included is the Parkes radio telescope that Australian technicians made use of in order to collect and transmit the TV broadcast from the moon to strategic broadcast points around the globe.

Reverse

The reverse of the 2019 Proof Australian Lunar Landing Two-Coin Silver and Cupro-Nickel Set features a different design for each coin in the set. The reverse of the US coin features the famous photo snapped by Buzz Aldrin as he stood on the moon and captured in the reflection of his own visor an image of Neil Armstrong and the Eagle lunar lander.
