The Proof British Queens Beast Silver Coins vary from the silver bullion version in several different ways. First and foremost, while the bullion coins have .9999 pure silver content, these proof silver coins in the collection have .999 silver content. Also notable is the lack of a guilloche background on the obverse in favor of matching mirrored, clear fields on the reverse and obverse of the proof coins. Additionally, the proof range has 1 oz, 5 oz, 10 oz, and 1 Kilo silver coins, while the bullion range has only 2 oz and 10 oz silver. That makes the 10 oz silver coin the only weight available in both versions.

Obverse

On the obverse side of 2019 Proof British Queens Beast Yale 10 oz Silver Coins is Queen Elizabeth II. This is the fifth-generation effigy of the Queen used on British denominations and it was designed by Jody Clark in July 2015. It shows Her Majesty at the age of 89 in right-profile relief wearing the George IV State Diadem Crown.

Reverse

The Yale stands behind the shield that bears a portcullis symbol from the personal badge of the first Tudor monarch.

History

The Yale of Beaufort was passed down to Lady Margaret through her father as the only heiress of his when he died. Lady Margaret, in turn, passed the Yale down to her only child, the future King Henry VII, whom she shared with Edmund Tudor, her second husband.
