The coin is set inside of a Perth Mint black display that has a timber lid. The coins come with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity from the mint and ship with the box inside of an illustrated shipper.
Obverse
Queen Elizabeth II is shown on the obverse of 2019 Proof Tuvalu Looney Tunes Bugs Bunny Gold coins. This right-profile bust of Her Majesty was created in 1998 by Ian Rank-Broadley for the Royal Mint of England and came to Australian and Commonwealth coins starting in 1999. Though it has been phased out on Australian denominations, it remains in use on Commonwealth coins from the Perth Mint for places such as Niue and Tuvalu. Inscriptions on this face include Queen Elizabeth II, 1/4oz 9999 Gold, 2019, and Tuvalu 25 Dollars.
Reverse
In the reverse design element of the 2019 Proof Tuvalu Looney Tunes Bugs Bunny 1/4 oz Gold Coin is the wise-cracking rabbit himself. The design here is trademarked and copyrighted by Warner Bros. It is inspired by the Looney Tunes logo with Bugs Bunny emerging from the concentric circles that form the shows logo. Inscriptions on this side of the coin read Bugs Bunny, P for the Perth Mint, and TM & Copyright BEI.
History
Bugs Bunny is believed to have been named for the director of the first animated film he appeared in. That director was Ben Bugs Hardaway and the first animated film was 1938s Porkys Hare Hunt. Bugs Bunnys official debut is considered 1940s A Wild Hare as he was credit simply as Happy Rabbit in the 1938 animated film.
