One of the longest-running collectible series available at the moment is one that also flies under the radar with many collectors. The Rwandan Wildlife Collection has been available since 2008 with a new design on the reverse field each year along with an image of the African continent. Provident Metals currently offers the 2019 Rwandan Shoebill 1 oz Silver Coin for purchase online.
When you purchase 2019 Rwandan Shoebill 1 oz Silver Coins, you receive specimens that are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Coins in this series are available to you inside of individual seal plastic packages or inside of sealed plastic sheets of 10 coins. This is the 12th coin in the collection and continues with the use of the common reverse design element of the African continent.
The national seal of Rwanda is depicted on the obverse of the 2019 Rwandan Shoebill 1 oz Silver Coins. The seal features a small hut in the center flanked by native flora found within modern Rwanda. The central design elements are flanked by shields on either side with a sun rising overhead. The national motto is inscribed below the seal. Other inscriptions on this side include the name of the nation and the Central Bank of Rwanda as the issuer. All text inscriptions are in Kinyarwanda, the native tongue of much of the population of Rwanda.
In the reverse design element, 2019 Rwanda Shoebill 1 oz Silver Coins depict the large, stork-like birds known simply as the shoebill. Sometimes referred to as the whalehead, whale-headed stork, or the shoe-billed stork, the birds are named for the enormous bill that is shaped similar to a shoe. These birds are found in the tropical regions in eastern Africa.
The Rwandan Wildlife Collection is produced by the BH Mayer Mint of Germany and debuted in 2008. A new native species to the continent is featured on the reverse field each year, though the African continents outline is always used on this side.
