Obverse
The obverse face of the 2019-W American Eagle Reverse Proof 1 oz Palladium Coin includes the famed Winged Liberty design from Adolph A. Weinman. This bust of Liberty originally appeared on the Mercury Dime from 1916 to 1947 and depicts Liberty wearing the winged Phrygian cap. Inscriptions include Liberty, AW, In God We Trust, and 2019.
Reverse
On the reverse side of all 2019-W American Eagle Reverse Proof 1 oz Palladium Coins is the image of an American bald eagle from the American Institute of Architects gold medal. This design was created in 1907 and depicts the eagle clutching a small sapling on a rock cliff with its wings back behind its figure. Inscriptions read United States of America, E Pluribus Unum, $25, and 1 oz. Pd 9995 Fine.
History
American Eagle Palladium Coins debuted in 2017 as a Brilliant Uncirculated specimen. In 2018, the US Mint issued the coin as a proof specimen with frosted designs and mirrored fields. These 2019 coins are reverse proof specimens with mirrored designs and frosted fields. The first two date marks had mintages of just 15,000 coins and sold out at the mint, while these 2019 coins had a mintage of 30,000 coins.
