The United States Mint took the American Liberty Series to new heights with the 2019 release. Like previous issues, the coin is a high-relief specimen. However, this one has a unique enhanced uncirculated finish. The high-relief coins are struck several times under high pressure to deliver the best 3D visuals on a sunken surface. The enhanced uncirculated finish creates a matte appearance for the coin.
Obverse
Liberty is featured in left-profile relief on the obverse of 2019-W American Liberty High Relief 1 oz Gold coins. This brand-new vision of Liberty depicts a powerful female figure with confidence in the look on her face. Her hair flows in the breeze as rays of brilliant sunshine form a crown on her head. Liberty is inscribed on this side along with In God We Trust, 2019, and the W mint mark of the West Point Mint. You will also find the initials of the two designers to create this image and a series of 13 stars.
Reverse
The national symbol of the United States, the American bald eagle, is depicted on the reverse of 2019-W American Liberty High Relief 1 oz Gold coins. The bald eagle in this design descends down with its talons preparing to catch its perch. Inscriptions on this face include $100 E Pluribus Unum, 1 oz .9999 Fine gold, and United States of America.
