Investors buying gold in the American Eagle Series from the United States Mint will find four weights available in the bullion gold version of the coin. The most popular weight in many years is the 1/10 oz gold coin. This weight holds the highest mintage figure in a single year of availability and is often surpassed only by the 1 oz coin. Provident Metals offers you the 2020 American Eagle 1/10 oz Gold Coin today in near-perfect condition.

Highlights:

  • Arrives with an NGC protective plastic slab!
  • 35th year of availability for the American Eagle 1/10 oz gold coin!
  • Limited number of certified gold coins available!
  • Contains 1/10 Troy oz of actual gold content.
  • Issued a face value of $5 (USD) by the government of America.
  • Bears a Grade of Mint State 69 from the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation.
  • Early Release label included.
  • On the obverse is a depiction of Lady Liberty.
  • The reverse face features American bald eagles.

When you purchase Certified American Eagle Gold Coins, each specimen is individually housed in a protective plastic slab. After the grading process has been completed by the NGC and the coin assigned a numeric grade, the coin is sealed inside of the slab to ensure it maintains that condition for decades to come.

Obverse

On the obverse side of 2020 American Eagle 1/10 oz Gold Coins is an image of Lady Liberty. Created by Augustus Saint-Gaudens in 1907, this image was one of four Liberty designs that Saint-Gaudens submitted to the US Mint in the early 20th century for consideration on circulating gold coins and the US penny. It was eventually chosen for use on the $20 Gold Double Eagle coin.

Reverse

The reverse face of 2020 American Eagle 1/10 oz Gold Coins bears an exclusive design you will only find on these gold coins from the United States Mint. Here, a family of American bald eagles is depicted in a design from Miley Busiek with a male above the nest and a female in the nest with a hatchling.

History

American Eagle 1/10 oz Gold Coins achieved the highest mintage figure in program history in 1999. That year, both the 1 oz and 1/10 oz gold coins set individual records for mintage, but at 2.75 million sold, the 1/10 oz coin nearly doubled the record of 1.5 million coins sold in the 1 oz weight that same year.

Ordering

2020 American Eagle 1/10 oz Gold Coins in this listing have Mint State 69 grades. Coins in this condition have full, original mint luster and no more than two minor detracting flaws. Those flaws are limited to minuscule contact marks and hairlines. Early Release coins must arrive for grading within the original 30-day period following release from the US Mint to earn the ER label.
