American Eagle 1 oz Gold Coins feature a design widely regarded as the single-best vision of Liberty in American history. Created in 1907, the image was one of several versions of Liberty submitted to the US Mint by Augustus Saint-Gaudens and was eventually approved for use on a circulation gold coin of the era. Now, you can own that same design on a Certified 2020 American Eagle Gold Coin. Right now, you can get a 2020 American Eagle 1 oz Gold Coin with a near-perfect grade from Provident Metals.

Obverse

The obverse face of the 2020 American Eagle Gold Coin includes Saint-Gaudens 1907 design of Liberty. This image has been modified slightly to reflect the modern era, but still focuses on Liberty marching forward with a torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other.

Reverse

On the reverse side of 2020 American Eagle 1 oz Gold Coins, you will notice a family of American bald eagles. The family nest includes a female with a young hatchling under her wing while a male eagle flies overhead. This design was created in 1986 exclusively for this series by Miley Busiek.

History

Augustus Saint-Gaudens brilliant Liberty design was created in 1907 and eventually used by the US Mint on the $20 Gold Double Eagle. Saint-Gaudens had been commissioned to create images of Liberty for four different gold coins and the US penny, but this image of Liberty went on to become his most famous. The original design included a field of 46 stars around Liberty reflecting the number of states in the Union at that time. Today, the American Eagle Gold Coin has 50 stars around Libertys figure.

Ordering

Your 2020 American Eagle 1 oz Gold Coin arrives inside of a sealed protective plastic slab from the PCGS. The additional First Strike label indicates the coins were received for grading within 30 days of the US Mints release of 2020 American Eagle Gold coins.
